This is the most complete and sturdy example of an early canvas covered "trap door" case we've ever had. Likely manufactured by the Harptone company in the late 1920's. Everything works as original. There are some very old stains from a spill maybe 100 years ago, and while we believe that these could be addressed, we will leave that to owner's discretion. Inside, the cream-colored canvas felt lining is exceedingly clean. There are no odors or evidence of exposure to moisture or serious use or abuse. Spring steel closure works like the day it was made. All guide clips on the edges are intact and functioning. Small, typical Martin 'O' guitar size, case measures 37 1/2" long by 13 1/2" wide by 4" deep. So here it is, a solid, functional, Victorian era "trap door" case now still on duty, at approximately 100 years old.
