Up for sale is a rare, custom-designed Conn tenor trombone created in the 1980s by legendary LA brass craftsman Larry Minick—designer to top LA studio trombonists. Built to compete with the premier pro-lightweight trombones of the era, this instrument delivers a light, warm, and highly responsive feel.

Featuring a .500 bore, an 8" lightweight bell, and a 7.3 oz outer slide, the entire horn weighs in at just 2 lbs 11 oz. It sports Minick’s signature curvy counterweight and comes equipped with three removable leadpipes, allowing advanced players to dial in the exact air resistance and response they want.

Condition Details:

  • Slide: Smooth 8.5/10 or better with no inner stocking wear typical of older Conns.
  • Body: Completely dent-free. The original lacquer exhibits minor wear and spotting, adding character to a clean, well-cared-for instrument.
  • Includes: The original Conn case in excellent condition.

This model was produced in very limited numbers and rarely hits the open market. A superb choice for any jazz or commercial player looking for a distinctive, high-performance horn.
