SABIAN 14" HHX Thin Crash Brilliant Finish

The 14" HHX Thin Crash delivers a fast, responsive attack with a noticeably lighter weight than typical thin crashes in its class. Its thinner profile and smaller raw bell produce a quick stick definition and shimmer that cuts through without dominating the mix. This cymbal excels across multiple musical contexts, from jazz and fusion to rock and contemporary styles.

Design & Construction

Built from B20 bronze alloy, this crash employs a distinctive multi-stage hammering process: initial sparse hammering followed by lathing, then denser HHX-style hammering applied on top. This approach yields a thinner, darker, and faster cymbal than the HHX Studio Crash it replaces, with a smaller bell that ensures rapid response and reduced overall weight compared to standard thin crash designs.

Tone & Character

The layered hammering technique produces a warm, rich tone with dark undertones and prominent shimmer. The result is a versatile crash that integrates seamlessly across musical styles while maintaining a bright, articulate character in the upper frequencies—ideal for drummers prioritizing fast articulation and cut without excessive sustain on stage.
