RARE Early Klein Jazzy Cats 2010 Loaded Pickguard

Since this listing had more interest than the other, I’ve gone ahead and swapped these pickups into the Klein pickguard and kept the other set so now you get a fully loaded pickguard ready to drop in and play!

Here are a set of super rare first year (2010) sticker-and-sharpie-back Klein pickups which came before the stamped back ones you usually see.

This particular set is in good condition with the exception of a tiny chip came out of the top of the A string pole on the middle pickup. Very hard to photograph but you can tell it’s there. Obviously there’s no effect on the tone. It's not a chip like physical damage would cause, just a small section of magnet crumbled out I guess.

Commonly mistaken as reproductions of the Big Dipper pickups from John Mayer’s signature Fender Stratocaster, these are actually reproductions of the pickups found in The Black One (or BLK1) strat which was the one used on the Continuum album. NOT his SRV Strat which had the original underwound Texas Specials which the Big Dippers are based off of.

So if you’re looking to match that Continuum tone of Slow Dancing, Vultures, Gravity, etc., THESE are the pickups that will get you there. John actually says in a 2010 interview that the Black1 is “all of the Continuum record.”

If you‘ve looked these up on the Klein website you’ll see Chris never published the specs on them for the public. That’s how good they are. He just states they have the same output, same inductance, and same stagger as the originals.

I haven't seen a set of these pop up here in a while so it may be a while before another one comes along.
