USED

Tested & working. In good shape overall. The dust cover has a bit of damage on one of the hinge inserts (see photos). It will require a minor repair for the cover to open & close properly with the backside hinges. But for now, it can always just rest on top.

DESCRIPTION
The Technics SL-5100 is a vintage Japanese direct-drive turntable from the late 1970s, built around a servo-controlled brushless DC motor and a solid aluminum platter. It offers 33 1/3 and 45 RPM operation, adjustable pitch, and a statically balanced S-shaped universal tonearm.

The SL-5100 is a fully manual turntable, making it a great choice for vinyl enthusiasts who prefer a traditional hands-on setup. The tonearm features adjustable tracking force, anti-skating, and a damped cueing mechanism.

Technics designed the SL-5100 as part of its 5000-series lineup, with an emphasis on stable speed and low mechanical noise. The published wow-and-flutter specification is 0.025% WRMS, while the weighted rumble specification is -78 dB. HHiFi Wiki+1

The original equipment cartridge was a Technics EPC-206C moving-magnet cartridge, although cartridge and stylus configurations can vary on vintage examples. HHiFi Wiki

This is a great vintage direct-drive deck for a classic hi-fi setup, and its combination of solid construction, adjustable pitch, and straightforward manual operation makes it a particularly appealing piece of late-1970s Technics equipment.
