The Roland SDE-1000 is Roland's affordable rack delay from the mid-80s. It's a 12-bit digital delay with a warm, slightly dark repeat that people often compare to a slow tape echo, especially in x2 mode. It sold for $499 new, and it's a rack staple that has held up well over the years.
It has a blue fluorescent delay time display, dedicated input attenuator, feedback and delay output controls, and a built-in modulation section with rate and depth for chorus, doubling and phase-shifted delay effects. Four memory presets store your favorite settings.
