This is a 2016 Gretsch G5435T Electromatic Pro Jet in black with the factory Bigsby and a pair of Black Top Filter’Tron pickups.

This is one of those guitars that sits in a really useful space between a traditional single-cut and the more open, lively Gretsch sound. The chambered body keeps it from feeling overly heavy, and the Filter’Trons have plenty of clarity and bite without getting thin. Clean, they have that crisp Gretsch definition; push an amp a little harder and there’s enough body and grit here for rock, blues, garage, indie, alternative, and plenty beyond that.

I’ve fully tested the guitar and the pickups, selector switch, controls, and electronics are all working properly.

A previous owner made a couple of practical changes that actually make sense on a Bigsby-equipped guitar. The original bridge has been replaced with a roller bridge, which gives the strings a smoother path when using the vibrato, and the factory tuners have been replaced with locking tuners. The original pickguard has also been removed and is not included.

This is a guitar that has been played. There are scratches, small marks, hardware wear, and other normal cosmetic signs of use. The tuner swap also left some visible previous mounting holes on the back of the headstock. I’ve photographed everything closely so there shouldn’t be any surprises when it arrives.

What I like about this one is that it doesn’t feel like a guitar you need to baby. It already has the useful Bigsby-friendly upgrades, it has some honest player wear, and it has that distinct Filter’Tron voice that separates it from the usual humbucker single-cut. Plug it in, lean on the Bigsby a little, turn the amp up, and it feels like exactly what an Electromatic Jet should be.
