Key Features and Operation
- Passive Design: The unit contains no active electronics, power supply, or amplifiers in the signal path.
- Make-Up Gain: Because it is completely passive, it outputs a mic-level signal that requires an external 2-channel microphone preamp (like Neve or API) to bring the signal back up to line level.
- Connections: Features 16 balanced inputs via standard Tascam-wired DB25 connectors and stereo XLR outputs.
- Routing: Offers push-button switches on each channel for Left, Center, or Right assignment, keeping unassigned channels entirely out of the path to maintain impedance.
