Sabian 7" Alu Bell

The Sabian 7" Alu Bell delivers a remarkably lightweight, responsive striking response due to its aluminum construction and compact 7-inch size. This hand-cast percussion instrument produces soft, bright tones with exceptional sustain—a character that cuts through without harshness in tracked percussion layers. The rough, unfinished surface of each bell is a direct result of traditional sand-casting methods, making every unit unique in its sonic personality, ensuring your recordings capture distinctive tonal character.

Design & Construction

Built from cast aluminum and shaped via sand-casting in completed form, the Alu Bell features a distinctive dome profile with a narrow, flat striking edge optimized for clean articulation and layering in multi-track sessions. The unpolished, pitted surface is not a flaw but evidence of the authentic casting process—each bell's individual characteristics mean no two units sound identical, adding natural variation to your percussion palette across takes and sessions.

Tone & Sonic Character

The aluminum material and thick cross-section generate a sweet, musical bell-like response with long sustain that sits clearly in the mix without masking other instruments. Expect soft, bright tones suitable for accentuation, transitions, and textural effects in recording and production applications ranging from world music to contemporary composition, providing session versatility across genre and arrangement needs.
