The AKG C12 VR (Vintage Revival) is a reference-grade, large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone built to capture the essence of one of the most legendary vocal mics in recording history: the 1950s original AKG C12. Handcrafted in Vienna, Austria, the C12 VR combines an edge-terminated CK12 brass capsule with an original-spec 6072A vacuum tube to deliver a distinct "smiley-face" frequency profile—bringing silky, open high-end sheen and a rich, natural low end to modern studio recordings.

Unlike modern solid-state mics that can sound overly clinical, the C12 VR injects smooth tube warmth, lush harmonic texture, and delicate transient detail into every track. Its external N12 VR power supply functions as a remote hub, allowing engineers to switch between 9 distinct polar patterns on the fly without disturbing mic placement in the live room. This particular mic has some cosmetic blemishes on the body. Additionally the cable has been repaired. All components have been tested and function excellently. The original shock mount is not present but it comes with an after market universal shock mount with detachable windscreen.
