This one's for anyone who wants that '60s Dove look without paying '60s Dove prices. The Violinburst finish and tortoiseshell pickguard do a lot of heavy lifting here, and the Fishman Sonitone preamp with the Sonicore pickup means you're not adding anything to gig with it. Plug in, set your volume and tone, go.

We won't oversell the playing feel. It's not a guitar that's going to convert a picky flatpicker or win a tone shootout. What it does well is being the guitar you actually want to grab for the stuff your good acoustic shouldn't touch: a campfire, a cottage trip, an open mic where the room's half full of spilled beer. It looks sharper than its price tag suggests and works right out of the case.

This guitar has a repaired crack. Run your finger over it, and you will barely feel a thing; it's completely smooth, but you can see where it happened if you look.
