Limited Edition 1 of 70! 2025 NAMM Show Gibson Custom Shop 70th Anniversary 1955 Les Paul Reissue r5 - Murphy Lab Light Aged Nugget Gold

This is not a guitar you're going to see often as this is one of only 70 built in Nugget Gold, out of a total run of 350 across the five NAMM colors. In 2025, Gibson decided to celebrate the 70th year anniversary of the historic 1955 Les Paul Goldtop. First thing you're going to notice is the color. Instead of it being the traditional goldtop that you see on all Les Pauls, Nugget Gold is far more aged and beginning to show its green copper underhues. It is a deep, muted, olive-leaning metallic, closer to an old car color than anything in the standard Gibson lineup, and it moves with the light. The Speed knobs are matched too. It is built to 1955: one-piece lightweight mahogany body with no weight relief, hide-glue-fit two-piece plain maple cap, one-piece mahogany neck with a long tenon and a proper chunky 1950s D. Two cream Custom Shop P-90 soapbars hand-wired to CTS pots and paper-in-oil caps, the no-wire ABR-1 with a lightweight aluminum stop bar, and all the little correct details: holly headstock veneer with the low logo, single-line single-ring Klusons, amber Catalin switch tip. It' s in fantastic basically mint condition. This is Murphy aging done correctly. Just enough wear in the right places and no hint of peel at all. The finish checking looks intentional. This is the murphy lab running on all cylinders. It's going to be a fantastic addition for the most discerning collector. Once these 70 guitars are sold, that's it! 8.78 pounds.
