Vintage Ludwig Classic marching snare drum, made by Ludwig Drum Co., Chicago, USA. This is an older American-made marching drum featuring a deep white-finished shell, Ludwig Classic hardware, and an unusual extended multi-strand snare system.

Condition

The drum is in good used vintage condition with cosmetic wear consistent with its age and previous marching use. The white finish has scratches, scuffs, marks and discoloration in areas. The chrome hardware has scratches, tarnishing and general age-related wear.

Some of the black marching mounting hardware shows surface rust/corrosion and finish loss. The Ludwig badge also has considerable fading and wear.

The snare system is present, although the individual strands show age and are not perfectly uniform. The bottom head has scratches and visible wear. Please review the photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition and configuration.

This is a very interesting vintage Ludwig marching drum with its Chicago USA badge, Classic strainer, deep shell and extended snare mechanism. A great piece for a Ludwig collector, vintage marching percussion collection, restoration project, or drummer looking for an unusual older American-made Ludwig snare.
