Western Electric 618 A Microphone with "Mutual" Flag
The Western Electric 618A is widely recognized as the world's first commercially successful moving-coil dynamic microphone. This one has been modified at some point to accommodate a new cable. We have installed a new cord with an XLR connector & it's working and sounding great.
- Tested and working.
- Moderate cosmetic wear (see photos & note above about modification). - cloth pop screen is loose inside housing & might need to be replaced (or just removed altogether). See inside photos.
- On yoke stand shown.
- Comes with thick pressed-paper "MUTUAL" flag shown. The flag pressure fits in the groove as shown and stays put. The age or authenticity of this flag is unknown, but it looks fairly old.
