DW LEFTCAST True Cast 2025 - Bronze

I bought this snare in 2025 brand new from dealer. I have not even played it, just swapped the hoops to brand new die cast and put in my climate controlled drum room.

This is a true collectors piece , only 25 were ever made. This is number 22.

I will include the DW true hoops that came with it. Also brand new, never played.

This is the exact same shell as the $4k true cast snares. Replacement parts for the LeftCast are readily available and not $$$ for the working drummer.

Here’s the description ;

The DW MFG LeftCast snare drum provides a unique twist on a classic design. This limited-edition snare features a sand-cast bronze (bell bronze) shell with a contoured 3–5 mm interior profile (typically described as 5 mm at the edges tapering to 3 mm in the center) that delivers a warm, fat tone with pronounced low end and open highs.

It is fitted with True-Cast steel hoops, Mini Turret lugs, and a MAG throw-off (plus steel tension rods in many descriptions) for enhanced resonance and durability. The throw-off and butt plate are engineered in reverse (“left-handed” orientation) for left-handed players, though the drum is fully playable by anyone.

Only 25 were crafted and hand-assembled in DW’s California Custom Shop. An “accident” in the manufacturing process resulted in the shells (and related orientation/badge details) being opposite the standard, so DW turned them into this special run rather than scrap them. It comes with Remo Ambassador heads and 20-strand True-Tone snare wires.
