Up for sale, a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Les Paul dates to the first year of the model’s reintroduction during the Norlin era; while some Standards were produced as special orders earlier in the decade, the iconic model with full-size humbuckers didn’t make an official return to the catalog until ‘76.

Weighing 10lbs 2oz, tonewoods include a “sandwich” mahogany body, three-piece maple top with light birdseye figuring, three-piece maple neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. The pair of T Top humbuckers offer a dynamic and detailed sound, balancing round lows, midrange bark, and sweet treble articulation. There’s a smooth growl at the bridge position, with notable bloom when notes ring out, and a bouncy, bell-like sweetness in the neck position. This Les Paul Standard has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The rear control cavity cover also has a small circular hole from a previously removed mod. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
