Beats Mutable Grids Replica Matte Black Aluminum
Beats is a 1:1 full-size replica of the Mutable Instruments Grids topographic drum sequencer, using the same circuit and firmware with identical functionality. Grids is a 3-channel trigger generator for building and sculpting rhythmic patterns. Its patterns come from a map, derived through machine learning from a large collection of electronic music tracks and drum loops: the skeleton of the rhythm is chosen by X/Y position on that map, with smooth interpolation between points. Event density for each of the three channels then thins or thickens the pattern, and X, Y and all three densities are CV-controllable. Channels are usually assigned BD, SD and HH. Grids has a built-in clock and accepts external clock at variable resolution.
Built by hand in California. With an anodized aluminum panel, real Alpha components and the same parts as the original, it is as close as you can come in a new build.
