This 21” Zildjian Z Custom Ride with the reissued Star hammer pattern was from the very first run of Z Custom cymbals produced in 2023, the 400th anniversary year of Zildjian. Still carrying the ”lightning bolt” date symbol on the stamp, which signifies 400 in Turkish, signifying the 400th year anniversary. Also note the “1623” in the sku on the front of the cymbal. This line was launched purposefully during 2023 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the company.

This cymbal was made in the Norwell, MA, factory by Zildjian master cymbal craftsman Joe Pallai who lathed all of the first editions himself. In fact, a few of his finger prints are still on it. I have not removed them, but your welcome to do so.

This Z Custom ride carries no Zildjian Z Custom logo as the logo plates were not yet finished. The sound is bright and brilliant, and the bell is clear and cuts through any mix on stage. The cymbal has not been played and there is no key holing. This is as rare of a Z Custom Megabell ride as you will find.
