Pearl drums from the 1990s are really as good as it gets. The design and engineering were flawless, the end result of which are drums that stand up to the test of time. This snare is just another example of that combination of ingenuity and skill.
This snare has a wide tuning range and is incredibly sensitive. Just listen to those ghost strokes! Center hits yield a warm and throaty tone. Rim shots are biting and precise, ready to cut through any mix. This drums plays well in soft and loud settings. It has tone and character to spare.
Mid-late 1990s 14x3.5" maple free floating snare in a rare blue finish. This drum is perfect with zero issues. I disassembled the drum and cleaned and lubed all shiny and mechanical parts. Everything functions exactly as it should. The batter head is brand new.
