This is a vintage Fender 5E3 Deluxe Amplifier. It has lived in my friends attic since the sixties. Below is a description of the work done and condition. Refer to the photos for more detailed info. Based on the serial number, info on the web dates it as a 1959. The amp is fully functional, and all control work as they should.......
The Tweed covering is all original, and as you can see it does show its age. All the internal resistors and capacitors have been checked, including the pots. The 6 electrolytic caps were replaced on 8/25/26 and are brand new. The original caps are included. The speaker was upgraded in the 1960's, to a Jensen Vibranto 100 Watt. The handle/hardware is new, and is a Fender®, Pure Vintage, Brown Leather handle. The AC wiring was upgraded to 3 wire with ground, and the Capacitor/ground switch was removed from the circuit.
