For sale is a Roland GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer with the GK-2A divided pickup, 13-pin cable, and power adapter — basically everything you need to make your guitar start questioning whether it was ever really a guitar in the first place.

The GR-33 is in excellent condition, fully functional, and sounds great. If you’ve ever wanted to play guitar and suddenly become a string section, synth pad, organ, bass, or some other instrument your band absolutely did not expect, this will get you there.

Included:

  • Roland GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer
  • Roland GK-2A divided pickup
  • 13-pin cable
  • Power adapter

Everything is fully functional and working as it should.

The GR-33 itself is in excellent cosmetic condition and has clearly had a much easier life than most music gear from this era.

The GK-2A pickup is in good condition, but there is one important thing to know: this style of pickup needs to be physically mounted to the guitar. Depending on your setup, that means using adhesive mounting material or screws. In other words, it does not attach through hope, magnets, or positive thinking.

Once installed and properly adjusted, the GK-2A sends the individual string information through the included 13-pin cable to the GR-33, opening up the wonderfully strange world of guitar synthesis. String sensitivity is adjusted on the GR-33.

This is a great setup for:

  • Guitar synth sounds
  • Pads and ambient textures
  • Organ and keyboard-style tones
  • Layered sounds
  • Recording
  • Live experimentation
  • Musicians who want to play anything other than guitar but still look cool on stage

The GR-33 is one of those pieces of gear that can turn a completely normal guitar part into something cinematic, weird, beautiful, or mildly confusing in about thirty seconds. Pair it with a computer and use it as a midi-controller to open up a world of possibilities.

A very clean GR-33 setup with the pickup and cable needed to actually use it — not just the main unit followed by an expensive scavenger hunt for the proprietary pieces.
