Original early production AKG C12 from 1950s, SN 78. Made in Austria.

This is an incredible microphone that was recently professionally serviced. It features an original CK12 brass capsule, reskinned by the master Peter Drefahl in Germany, its original V2148 output transformer (pre T14 era), and a NOS GE 6072A Triple Mica tube. All components have been tested by The Mic Shop in Nashville. NOS tube was fully tested for noise level and is in perfect condition.
The mesh and capsule holder are replacements from Flea. I can provide the buyer with the original mesh, but it will need to be soldered back to its base ring, which requires some specialty labor.

This set comes with the original AKG N12 power supply, just recapped and calibrated, and the original U2 polar pattern switch. New Sommer cabling with the original connectors, except for a new swivel mount made by Flea.

All parts fit perfectly in a waterproof case.

This beautiful microphone is ready to shine in the studio for another 70 years. Its ready to be used and sounds great. All components and parts have been professionally inspected and fully tested. The microphone and accessories have normal signs of use, such as scratches and some discoloration, which are shown in the pictures.

The original C12 is a true studio legend found in countless recordings worldwide. Its considered one of the best microphones ever made. It was manufactured between 1953 and 1963. Besides being an incredible sounding microphone, its a highly collectible item, which explains its price point. It will remain one of most sough after microphones and certainly will preserve and increase its resale value for many decades to come.
