The Roland JX-3P is a classic 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer produced by Roland between 1983 and 1985. As one of Roland's first MIDI-equipped instruments, it shares the same high-quality analog filters and VCAs found in the legendary Juno and Jupiter series. While the synthesizer's built-in control panel relies heavily on button interfaces for editing, pairing it with the companion PG-200 Programmer completely unlocks the instrument's potential by adding dedicated physical knobs and sliders for real-time sound design.

• Polyphony: Plays up to 6 notes at the same time (six voices).
• Keyboard: 61 unweighted keys that do not respond to how hard you press them (not velocity-sensitive).
• Oscillators: Two DCOs (Digitally Controlled Oscillators—analog sound generators kept stable by a digital computer) per voice.
• Memory: Holds 32 factory preset patches and 32 user memory slots.
• Effects: Includes a warm, built-in analog chorus.
• Sequencer: Features a basic 128-step polyphonic sequencer for repeating patterns.

PG-200 Programmer Features

• Dedicated Controls: Adds physical knobs and sliders for nearly every sound parameter so you do not have to menu-dive or use the synth's single-slider editing method.
• Workflow: Speeds up patch creation significantly compared to editing on the main keyboard panel.
• Limitation: On stock hardware, the PG-200 plugs into a proprietary port and cannot be used at the same time as the MIDI interface.
