Circa 1970 Vistalite 5x14 Snare
This drum is all original and in great shape. Practically flawless. The sound is punchy and crisp! Legendary sound. If you know you know.
It has been cared for by professionals in a studio setting for the last 20 years. Was a recording work horse for many of those years so the original dampener has been removed due to noise but the original mounting screws and back plate have been reinstalled by me (see photos). The drum has its original 1970s 12 strand wires and it’s original P-85 throw off which has been properly maintained.
The outer and inner surfaces of the drum are in fantastic shape. There is one semi noticeable scratch on the inside of the shell near the throw off. I’ve circled in one of the photos. (I was removing the throw off and my wrench slipped and left a light scratch) THIS IS NOT A CRACK! I viscerally remember when this happened.
The chrome on the lugs, throw and butt is excellent. The 50 year old hoops show a little bit of rust and slight pitting as well as the tension rods.
The drums is in overall fantastic shape!
