Rare Marantz PMD-222 3 Head Cassette Tape Field Recorder w/ Bird Song Mod

Pristine and fully operational Marantz PMD222 3-Head Cassette Tape Recorder with rare Bird Song modification by Cornell University. The Bird Song modification removes the 10db noise, makes recordings more clear, and records higher frequencies. This mod was only performed on special PMD222 units purchased from the Marice Stith Recording Services. The unit has been used a handful of times and has recently been throughly tested. The unit is in pristine condition with a minor scuff on the tape cover. Comes complete with original box and manuals. Also comes with an unopened power adapter and unopened carry case. These units are great for sound design, sound on sound tape loops, and is perfect for doing field recordings. With the 3 heads, the PMD222 allows for tape echo effects. The unit also has 1/2 time speed, pitch and tone control.
