A beautiful Marantz 2252B vintage stereo receiver in excellent condition, professionally serviced by 617HiFi in Brookline, Massachusetts, and 3+ hour bench tested after service.

The Marantz 2252B is a classic 1970s silver-face receiver, known for its brushed-aluminum faceplate, blue illuminated dial, analog meters, and unmistakable Marantz styling.

This example presents extremely well for its age and includes the metal top cover.

Professional Service

Professionally serviced by 617HiFi in Brookline, MA.

  • Every electrolytic capacitor checked for reasonable ESR and capacitance tolerance
  • Out-of-spec capacitors replaced with Panasonic FC, FR, FM, or FS series capacitors
  • Power amplifier differential input pairs replaced due to poor factory matching and drifting DC offset
  • Replacement differential input pairs were gain matched and thermally bonded
  • Driver transistors replaced where corrosion from original factory adhesive was found
  • Thermal paste reapplied where necessary
  • All pots and switches cleaned
  • Stereo indicator light replaced
  • Internal inspection and functional testing completed

This was a targeted, condition-based service, not a blanket recap.

Original components that tested properly and remained within acceptable operating tolerance were retained.
