This is a cutdown and rewrapped done by Precision Drums and sold by Parkway Music in NY. The wrap and lugs are excellent/mint. The badge is Ludwig, Monroe (North Carolina). Parkway sold it as a Ludwig Classic Maple (I have the receipt), but there are no internal markings or sticker. Resonant head is a ported Evans EQ 3. More about condition...
Drum Interior & Overall Condition
Positives
- External wrap & lugs = Excellent (like new)
- Hoops = Excellent - No mark from a pedal being attached
- Bearing edges = Likely the edges were recut by Precision Drums, as there are no rough or high spots
- Placing both sides of the drum on a flat marble counter indicates no high spots
- Based on a Monroe build and badge type, I believe the drum was built in the late 1980s
Negatives
- There are two patched interior holes by each of the spurs (NO extra holes in the wrap). Likely this drum originally shipped with telescoping spurs that Precision replaced with new modern spurs (see photos)
- Dark marks on the inside bottom portion of the shell point toward water intrusion at some point (see photos)
- Both heads have wear - Front head has an impression/dent where something must have struck it / Rear head shows lots of scuffing, but is functionally fine
- Photos include interior shots of all four angles
