These are all original, and in excellent shape. Well preserved for their 50 year old age. Cabinets are glowing vintage wood veneer , scratch free. Grills are near perfect , with one small tear as shown in picture. Both logo emblems are intact. Woofers have some dome bruises, as shown in pictures.. but this does not affect the sound, and it's really not bad. I've seen a lot worse. If you can handle the patina, then these are just what you would expect from HPM-40's. Punchy bass. Strong presence. Full mid range. These are efficient, and sound great with tube amps. All drivers are original pioneer, and fully functional. Woofer surrounds are excellent. These are in better shape than most HPM's that you will see. Quality built in Japan when Pioneer was production the greatest hifi ever manufactured. The perfect match for a classic Silver SX series Pioneer receiver.
