Nagra NAGRA III Kudelkski 1966 Reel to Reel Tape Recorder

An audio project left in the closet for far too long. My intentions were good, but I'd love a collector to take this from me and make it shine again. I am absolutely willing to entertain offers.

My knowledge of the recorder is admittedly limited. I am not a tape guy, or even an analog guy for the most part. So, I've done my best to show what I can re: the condition and function of the gear. While certainly not pristine, this is in highly restorable condition. If I'm reading the SN correctly, the year of manufacture is 1966. The dials on this thing really have the most satisfying "clunk" when you turn them. Basic functionality (record & playback) are demonstrated in the accompanying video, and this testing was done using battery power (12 D-cells, which will be removed prior to shipping.)

I'm including two extras with the recorder, though their value may be in the eye of the beholder. I am not able to get the recorder functioning with the included power supply. This could very well be operator error, but it seems like a pretty straightforward plug & play thing, so buyer should assume there is a functionality issue. The included leather case has seen better days, as shown in the photos. Since I'm not a leatherworker, I can't say whether or not it is restorable. But I'd like to think that it is! It's pretty cool.

Potential buyers, please understand that this is a sixty year-old piece of gear, and that the only functionality that I can verify is what's shown in the accompanying video. I am unable to provide any technical information or support other than what is shown in the accompanying video and photographs. You can ask me questions, and I'll certainly try to answer them if I'm able, but it's unlikely I'll be able. All that being said, this is sold "as is" with no guarantees other than that playback and record functions have been verified as working.
