Tapco 4400A Stereo Spring Reverb. In excellent condition (minor scuffs and other signs of use) and working well. Recently serviced with rebuilt power supply and new ICs throughout. An exceptional example of this awesome-sounding vintage unit.

The Tapco 4400A is an updated and improved revision of the original vintage Tapco 4400 dual-channel spring reverb.

Key Differences

• Reverb Tanks: The 4400 uses standard dual-spring tanks, whereas the 4400A upgrades to Accutronics Type 9 tanks featuring 3 springs in the delay channel for a richer, vastly improved sound.
• Circuitry (EQ): The pre- and post-equalization in the drive and pickup circuitry on the 4400A was revised to match and optimize the upgraded Accutronics tanks.
• Input Jacks: The input jacks on the 4400A are "normalled," which allows you to run a "one in, two out" mono-send/stereo-return setup easily without needing external Y-cords.

Unlike many vintage spring reverbs that offer only basic controls, the 4400A provides extensive tone shaping with independent controls for each channel, including input level, output level, reverb percentage, and a dedicated 4-band reverb equalizer. It can operate as a true stereo processor or as two completely independent mono reverbs, making it equally useful in recording studios, live sound, synthesizer rigs, guitar setups, and vintage effects collections.
