DESCRIPTION:

The Trickfish Bullhead 1.5K started with the front end of the Bullhead 3K — the Mike Pope-designed preamp, the 4-band EQ, and the variable high-pass and low-pass filters — then simplified the concept. One input, one Pascal L-Pro2S power module, two parallel speaker jacks. 1700 watts RMS at 4 ohms, 1060 watts RMS at 8 ohms, 7.2 lbs.

It is a high-powered single-channel head for players who want more clean headroom and cabinet-level frequency control without dual-channel routing. The Bullhead preamp is the same across the Bullhead heads: warm, transparent, and precise, built to represent the instrument rather than stack a heavy amp sound on top of it.

HOW THE FILTERS WORK

The high-pass and low-pass filters are independently switchable and sit on the left of the front panel. Engage them and each one delivers a steep 24dB-per-octave cut: the high-pass trims below the selected frequency, the low-pass rolls off above it. Use the 4-band EQ to shape the tone, then use the filters to set how much of the extreme low and high range reaches the cabinets, without changing the sound in between.
