For sale is my YTS-61 frankensax. I rescued this tenor saxophone from the clutches of the landfill. This was an abandoned project horn that was missing several components when i bought it. I took it to a tech at Better Than New Band Repair in Round Rock, Texas where they were able to get it in playing shape by soldering a different key guards to the bell and cleaning out seized rods and replacing a handful of pads. I purchased this saxophone to install a pickup on and experiment with guitar pedals. The neck has been drilled and a receiver for a pickup was soldered on. I have had the receiver removed and a patch installed to restore it to regular playing condition, but should you want to use the horn for the same purpose, a decent tech could remove the patch and install another pickup receiver with ease. If you need videos of the horn playing, reach out and I’ll make it happen. This is a modified and not very pretty instrument that sounds great and would serve well as a backup instrument or a workhorse that could be marched or taken to clubs you don’t want to bring your main horn, therefore it’s priced lower than just about any playing YTS-61 that you’ll find right now.
