L.Luthier is an up-and-coming Asian guitar brand founded in 2009 in Malaysia by Adwin Lai. Having started playing guitar and composing in his teens, and specializing in guitar and vocal music at university, and even releasing singles, he possesses extensive musical knowledge. His instruments, born from his unique insights, reflect not only in their internal structure but also in their highly original designs. This particular instrument is the Le Light Manga C, a concert ukulele featuring a cedar top and mango sides and back. Similar to the LE series guitars, the unique soundhole positioned on the upper bass side of the top and the soundport mounted on the side provide high sensitivity during performance. A key feature is the consideration given to separating and monitoring the sound heard by the performer from the sound delivered to the audience. This ukulele features a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge with maple line design, open gold geared tuners, and a gently rounded Venetian cutaway. The original active pickup is a 2-way design with an under-saddle piezo and condenser microphone. A convenient thumbwheel mounted on the top soundhole allows for easy control of both volume and microphone balance. The line output sound is well-balanced, natural, and highly expressive, making it ideal for live performances and live streaming. Despite its concert size, the tone is powerful and full-bodied, yet responsive to delicate touches, making it also recommended for solo ukulele playing.
