The VT15 is one of those older Valvetronix amps that makes a lot of sense once you actually plug into one. It gives you the convenience of a modeling practice amp, but VOX built a real 12AX7 tube into the Valve Reactor power section, so there’s a little more feel and movement under your fingers than you expect from a compact 15-watt combo.

You’ve got 22 amp models to work with, ranging from sparkling cleans and classic VOX-style chime through British crunch, higher-gain sounds and boutique-style voices. Add the onboard modulation, delay and reverb effects and you can cover a surprising amount of ground without building a pedalboard around it.

The rear power-level control is another great feature. You can turn the output down while still pushing the amp harder, which makes this especially useful as a home, bedroom or recording amp.

This one presents very nicely for its age. The black cabinet, chrome diamond-pattern grille and classic cream VOX controls give these early Valvetronix amps a much more distinctive look than most modern practice amps. There is some normal light cosmetic wear from use, which can be seen in the photos.
