Rare early-2000s SMF / Sonic Machine Factory 15 Watter all-tube Class A 1x12 combo in black, designed by Mark Sampson and Rick Hamel.
This example is in excellent condition and includes a footswitch. Please review the photos for the exact cosmetic condition.
Vintage Guitar's April 2003 review documented the 15 Watter's hand-wired construction, EL84 output section, two-channel 12AX7 preamp, active EQ, reverb with a separate tone control, heat-isolating "Tube Wall," and hinged "Sonic Hatch" for tuning the cabinet between open- and closed-back response. The review described large, fat clean tones, British-leaning overdrive, and unusually flexible reverb.
Sampson came to the project after a Bad Cat design stint; Hamel was known for SIB tube effects. The SMF 15 Watter model—not this individual amplifier—has been associated with players including Jack White and John Mayer. No artist ownership or provenance is represented.
