I purchased this bass trombone in the late 90s when I was living in northern California, from a member of the San Francisco symphony. He had removed the lacquer from the bell. No other modifications that I am aware of. I played it for a few years, but it has gone largely unplayed for the last 20 years. Had it professionally cleaned a couple of years ago, and it has remained in the case since then. Dual thayer valves. 3 interchangeable lead pipes. Slide is in great condition.
