Sunn Concert Lead... if you know, you know.

Aesthetic condition is VERY GOOD. All original nobs and ins and outs. This one has not been gigged with in years, but has been played LOUD AF a lot. And sounds... like heaven or hell as you like. Audio quality is excellent, and all bright/normal inserts, Brite, Distort, Boost, Reverb all function as they should.

I've owned a few Sunns - 2 Concert Leads and 2 Beta Leads. The Beta Lead gets so much press, but why? Yes it's epic in its DOOM / SLUDGE but to my ears too middy and not crystal and the deeps don't stand out as a result.

All that raving misses the incredible versatility of the Concert Lead in comparison. The Beta Lead to my ears, while fucking fun for Melvins like OD and Doom, lacks the sparkling clarity and DEEP lows at EPIC VOLUMES that the Concert Lead can achieve. And yes it can still push into DOOM with pedals.

I'm a big fan of Steve Albini's Shellac sound and had a Fender Bassman, built two Dietz cabs... and when I got my first Concert Lead i SOLD MY VINTAGE BLACKFACE BASSMAN. Crazy sure. But holy fuck the Concert lead with BRIGHT on, BOOST on and DISTORTION tuned to your 'breakup' liking... the ground beneath your feet shakes, brights pierce through, and if you like you can add MIDS to give it that more Orange / Beta Lead like punch.

If you own an Electrical Guitar Company / EGC or Travis Bean (Original or Designs), you will CRY with joy with this amp. It's fucking insane.

On the clean/sparkly, The Concert Lead is NOT a Fender Twin killer by any means (Mostly because the reverb is... well to my ears not the reason you'd buy this amp). But what Sunn achieved with solid state in the Concert Lead.... wow it's fricken gorgeous amp.

It takes any pedal I've thrown at it without any of the oddity my twin has sometimes with OD or Distortion... For the most part I play it without OD or Distortion pedals, and PUSH it to that gorgeous breakup with intensity of playing, and balancing that Distort setting with boost and bright.
