A distinctive three-piece back and antique white binding around the fingerboard sets the D-35 apart. Expressive quarter-inch straight bracing gives it balance and power for any situation. Premium East Indian rosewood, Sitka spruce, and a timeless Dreadnought shape have made it the choice for pickers, strummers, and players of all genres. Vintage appointments, including antique white accents, Grover enclosed tuners, an aged toner top, and a faux tortoise pickguard with a new neck profile to give D-35 enthusiasts a modern feel and comfortable playing experience. In 1965 Martin introduced the D-35, a dreadnought which allowed Martin to utilize narrower sections of Brazilian rosewood than were normally used for the construction of a Dreadnought guitar. The three-piece-back D-35 was a brand new design and style, complete with fancier celluloid trim around the body and binding on the sides of the fretboard. The D-35 became an instant major success in the mid '60s, and remains so today.
