Vintage Shure CR-80D Controlled Reluctance microphone, dating from approximately the 1950s.
Very cool early Shure microphone with the original brown housing, Shure front badge, grille cloth, attached vintage cable and 1/4” plug. The CR-series controlled-reluctance microphones are known for their strong midrange character and have become particularly desirable for blues harmonica, vintage-style vocals and recording applications where a distinctly colored old-school microphone sound is wanted.
This example presents very nicely for its age. The original finish remains quite attractive with some small chips, marks and general wear consistent with a microphone of this vintage. Please examine the photos closely, as they are part of the description.
