Universal Audio OX Amp Top Box reactive load box, power attenuator, speaker/cabinet simulator, and complete guitar-recording system for tube amplifiers. Only used once.
OX sits between a tube amp and speaker cabinet, allowing the amplifier to run in its tonal sweet spot while reducing the physical speaker volume—or recording silently without a connected cabinet. Its analog reactive load is designed to preserve the feel, dynamics, and response of the amplifier rather than behaving like a simple resistive attenuator.
STUDIO-QUALITY AMP RECORDING
UA Dynamic Speaker Modeling recreates cabinet, speaker-drive, breakup, and cone-cry behavior rather than relying only on a static impulse response. The six-position RIG control recalls complete cabinet, close-mic, room-mic, and effects setups, making it easy to capture polished stereo guitar tracks without setting up microphones.
The OX app connects over Wi-Fi from compatible Mac, Windows, or iPad systems for deeper editing and saving custom Rigs. Built-in studio effects include EQ, compression, delay, and reverb.
