I’ve had this drum for about 30 years. It is a 1930s Ludwig and Ludwig 5 x 14 snare drum with a heavy brass two piece shell. It was originally a stipple gold super Ludwig that was missing many parts. The finish was very chipped off shape so it was completely stripped to the naked brass shell.It has been converted to a standard drum with chrome tube lugs and hoops, tension, rods strainer, and butt plate from a late 60s Ludwig snare drum. The extra holes from the super sensitive mechanism are shown in the pictures behind the strainer and butt plate.
The drum is a workhorse and is a great playing Drum. tunes up and always sounds fat. Lots of crack and body is typical from this two piece. Heavy brass drum shell.
