2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cutaway Plus Trans Red – Repaired Headstock – SKB Gig Bag

Here is a USA-made Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cutaway Plus from 2005, finished in a beautiful transparent red over a figured flame maple top and dressed in gold hardware.

Gibson's Les Paul Standard Double Cutaway combines familiar Les Paul construction and appointments with a distinctive double-cutaway body and excellent upper-fret access. This version features a mahogany body with figured maple top, set mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, dual humbuckers, Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.

Condition:

Good used condition with a previous repair and noticeable cosmetic wear.

IMPORTANT: This guitar shows evidence consistent with a previous repair in the neck/headstock transition area. Irregular finish lines are visible across and around the back of the neck immediately below the headstock. Additional finish checking is visible on both the front and back of the headstock. We do not know the history of the repair or the extent of the original damage, so buyers should review the detailed photos carefully.

There are also numerous scratches, scuffs and finish marks from normal use. Several small chips/dings are present on the back of the body, along with additional finish wear and checking. The gold hardware shows normal age-related wear and tarnishing.

The transparent red finish and figured maple top still present very nicely, particularly from the front.

Because of the previous repair and cosmetic wear, we are describing and pricing this guitar as a player's instrument rather than a collector-grade example.
