A beautiful example of an early Sabian B20 20” Ride, weighing 2,105 grams.
This is one of the earlier Sabian B20 cymbals, featuring the distinctive “B20 by Sabian” stamp. It has a gorgeous, warm golden appearance, exceptionally fine lathing, and a very clean, classic vintage-cymbal look. At 2,105g, this particular example is on the lighter side for a B20 Ride, giving it a more open and responsive character than many of the heavier examples.
The cymbal has a clear, articulate ride sound with plenty of musical warmth, while the lighter weight gives it some additional crashability and responsiveness. A very versatile cymbal for rock, pop, blues, jazz, and just about anything where you want an older-school Sabian sound.
Condition
Overall, this is an exceptionally clean and beautiful cymbal. There is one small chip on the edge, which is shown clearly in the photos, along with a very small amount of keyholing around the center hole. Neither issue appears to compromise the overall appearance or usability of the cymbal, but both are disclosed for full transparency.
A particularly nice example for someone looking for an early Sabian B20 with plenty of character, without paying vintage collector prices for a more commonly sought-after AA or HH.
