2003 Gibson Custom Shop Historic '57 Reissue Les Paul (Sonic Drive-In) Electric Guitar w/ Hardshell Case!

Up for sale is this 2003 Gibson Custom Shop Historic '57 Reissue Les Paul electric guitar. This, however, isn't your standard goldtop '57 reissue and, when we saw it, we just HAD to have it...

This guitar is all original and features a paint job to honor the 50th birthday of "America's Drive-In". It's actually insanely cool and absolutely, without a doubt, sticks out. The instrument is in very nice condition for its age and looks to have lived most of its life in the case. There are a few small dings and scuffs as well as the typical finish swirls that we see on instruments with black finishes, but nothing major at all. The original hardware shows some light wear and pitting but is, overall, very clean.

This one has just been gone over by our tech who cleaned it up, polished the frets, oiled the fretboard, sprayed out the electronics, installed a fresh set of strings, performed a set up, and finished up by grabbing a cherry limeade at, well, you guessed it! The action is low and comfortable all the way up the neck and everything works as it should. It's a great playing and sounding guitar which makes sense because, after all, it is a dressed up Custom Shop '57 reissue.

A period Gibson USA TKL case is included and is very likely the original case for this one. The paperwork and hang tags are included (the instrument is listed as "LP - Sonic" as the model) but there is no COA. The case is in nice condition for its age but does show some wear from protecting the instrument over the years. All of the latches and hinges are present and work as they should but the lock latch does tend to want to flip open as is common with these.
