Very reluctant to part with this one, but unfortunately I must.
My friends and I all agreed this is one of the best guitars, never mind Les Pauls, we’ve ever played.
It is incredibly articulate, with the most balanced EQ I’ve encountered on a solid body guitar. It sustains for days, and has an amazing, grand piano-like clear, booming low end. The bridge pickup gives that unmistakable quack that the originals are known for. It must be the underwound Wildwood Spec P90s.
The neck is super dark and almost entirely uniform across the board, and has a fantastic, chunky feel that is improved by the tactile sensation of the lacquer checking and rolled edges.
The aging here is a bit of a gem. Gibson Custom shop doesn’t appear to offer these in “Light Aged” anymore. Not only that, but it really seems to be on the heavier end of light, it’s extremely tastefully done.
It comes in at a perfect 8.49 pounds. Video below is of Greg Koch from Wildwood playing this specific guitar.
Finally, I swapped the tailpiece with a Gibson Custom Shop OEM one that shows some more dull patina (the stock one seemed a little bit too shiny for the aging), but the original is in the case. There’s also a spare set of Custom Shop OEM replacement knobs purchased just to have extra.
Shipping to CONUS only and will come in the original Wildwood box. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m very unlikely to entertain offers that are double digit percent off.
