Ludwig Classic Maple Downbeat 3-Piece Shell Pack – Lemon Oyster – 20/12/14 – Mint

For sale is my Ludwig Classic Maple Downbeat 3-piece shell pack in Lemon Oyster, purchased new in October 2025.

The kit is in mint condition and has lived exclusively in my home studio, where it has been used sparingly for recording sessions. It has never been gigged and has been very well cared for.

This is Ludwig’s classic Downbeat configuration, with a shallow 20” bass drum and traditional tom sizes:

• 14” x 20” Bass Drum – Virgin shell, Mini Classic lugs, Classic claw hooks and Elite spurs
• 8” x 12” Rack Tom – ATLAS tom mount, Mini Classic lugs and tom holder
• 14” x 14” Floor Tom – TRIAD leg brackets, Mini Classic lugs and three floor tom legs

All three drums feature Ludwig’s cast brass badges and chrome hardware.

Shell Construction

Classic Maple drums are made in the USA using Ludwig’s 7-ply, 6mm cross-laminated North American maple shells and RFST (Radio Frequency Shell Technology) construction. The shells feature 45-degree bearing edges for excellent head seating, sensitivity and a broad tuning range.

The 20/12/14 Downbeat configuration is especially versatile. The 20x14 bass drum has the punch and immediacy of a traditional-depth kick without sacrificing low end, while the 12x8 and 14x14 toms provide the warmth, resonance and musical character Classic Maples are known for. It’s an excellent configuration for recording, smaller stages, jazz, rock, pop, R&B or anyone looking for a professional-quality American-made maple kit without oversized drums.

And, of course, the Lemon Oyster finish is gorgeous in person and gives the kit a distinctive vintage-inspired Ludwig appearance.

Heads / Included Equipment

The kit currently has:

• Evans Coated G2 batter heads on the toms
• Evans Genera Reso resonant heads on the toms
• Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 batter head on the bass drum
• Original Ludwig logo resonant bass drum head
• ATLAS rack-tom mount / tom holder for the 12" rack tom
• Three floor-tom legs

The drums will be shipped in original boxes. I purchased this kit new for $2,699 in October 2025. I’m simply reducing the number of kits in my studio, so this one is ready to go to someone who will put it to good use.
