This is the original D-BOX (2006–2019), not the later D-BOX+.

HOW ANALOG SUMMING WORKS

Instead of collapsing an entire mix to stereo only inside the DAW, route up to eight outputs from your audio interface into the D-BOX—commonly four stereo stems such as drums, bass, instruments, and vocals/effects. The D-BOX combines those stems through its high-headroom analog summing bus, producing a stereo mix that can be recorded back into the interface.

Dangerous designed this summing path for clarity and transparency rather than permanent transformer or tube coloration. The goal is a larger working headroom, precise stereo placement, depth, separation, and an open soundstage while preserving the tone already created with microphones, outboard equipment, and plug-ins. Dangerous Music states that the D-BOX summing circuit uses the same design and components as one half of its 16-channel 2-BUS.
