The Beyerdynamic M58 is a handheld omnidirectional dynamic microphone built for ENG and EFP broadcast work. It uses a moving-coil transducer with a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 1.3 mV/Pa, outputting via a 3-pin XLR connector at a nominal impedance of 200 Ohms. The mic features an internal shock mount to reduce handling noise during interviews, a rugged aluminium body with a non-reflective Nextel finish, and a weight-balanced design - all in a compact 260 mm form factor weighing 256 g. The omnidirectional polar pattern captures sound evenly from all directions, making it well suited to on-camera interviews, field reporting, and broadcast journalism applications.
