The Riverside is a stompbox that can be described as the culmination of Strymonfs work. By analyzing numerous analog and tube circuits, it offers extremely wide dynamic range, a rich harmonic structure, and a tone reminiscent of tube drive.
The analog input stage consists of a Class-A JFET analog multistage gain circuit. This stage is digitally controlled to ensure the signal is sent to the subsequent DSP gain stage while maintaining maximum headroom. Additionally, this section faithfully reproduces the playerfs touch, nuances, and response to the guitarfs volume control, just as if the guitar were plugged directly into a tube amp.That signal is processed by the DSP section to generate the complex harmonic structure that defines the distortion.
Clean, mild overdrive, high-gain lead, heavy saturated distortion... no matter the gain setting, you can produce the ultimate sound.
