The Studio Projects VTB1 is a budget-friendly, single-channel "variable tube" microphone and instrument preamplifier. It is best known for its hybrid design, combining a clean, discrete Class-A solid-state front end with a blendable 12AX7 vacuum tube circuit.
Variable Tube Blend: Features a continuously variable control knob allowing you to blend seamlessly from 100% clean Class-A solid-state to heavy tube saturation. When turned completely off, the tube is removed from the signal path entirely.
High-Z DI Input: Includes a front-panel 1/4-inch Instrument Hi-Z input, making it functional as a direct box for electric guitar, bass, or keyboards.
Rear I/O & Insert: Features balanced XLR input/output, balanced 1/4-inch TRS output, and a dedicated 1/4-inch TRS insert jack for placing processors (like an EQ or compressor) direct into the signal chain before output.
